Emsella Pelvic Floor Therapy in Charlotte, NC: Strength Without Surgery or Downtime
How Coaching Fits Your Emsella Program
Your coach, your check-ins, your numbers
A device on its own is not a program. Your first visit starts with Brent Mague's goal-setting conversation about what you want back: confident workouts, fewer leaks, a stronger core. Olivia Mague then takes a Styku 3D body composition scan so posture, waist and core measurements are on record before session one. From there we book your six sessions, pair them with Emsculpt Neo where a core-to-floor plan fits, and set simple daily habits, all inside our weight loss coaching packages.
Check-ins happen at session three and at course end, in person or by video, and your coach asks the same plain questions each time: leaks, urgency, confidence, sleep. You rescan on the Styku so core and posture changes are measured, not guessed. If progress stalls, we review hydration, bathroom timing and home pelvic floor habits before adding sessions. Medical questions, implants included, go to Impact Health Network licensed physicians through a telehealth visit we arrange. See how it works at Aspire Trim.
What Is Emsella Pelvic Floor Therapy?
HIFEM energy for muscles you cannot easily train
Emsella is a chair-shaped BTL device that uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to work the pelvic floor while you sit fully clothed. BTL describes it as inducing thousands of kegel-like contractions in a single session. It is FDA-cleared (510(k) K180813) for men and women.
The field passes through clothing and triggers supramaximal contractions, stronger than any voluntary squeeze. In 28 minutes the pelvic floor does the work of thousands of Kegels and adapts like any muscle. The protocol is six sessions, twice a week for three weeks. Many clients report fewer leaks and less urgency. Individual results vary.

Emsella vs Other Pelvic Floor Options
An honest comparison

| Kegel exercises at home | Voluntary squeezes of the pelvic floor, repeated daily | 5 to 10 minutes daily | Gradual gains over 8 to 12 weeks when done correctly | Ongoing, for life | None | Motivated people who can isolate the right muscles and stay consistent |
| Pelvic floor physical therapy (external provider) | Hands-on assessment, biofeedback and guided exercise with a licensed therapist | 45 to 60 minutes per visit | Builds over several weeks of visits | Course of 6 to 12 visits | None | Pain, prolapse or coordination problems that need a clinician's hands |
| Electrical stimulation devices (external provider) | Low-level electrical current through an internal probe to contract the muscles | 20 to 30 minutes per session | Trailed HIFEM in one published head-to-head study | Multiple sessions per week | None | People who tolerate an internal probe and want home-based stimulation |

How an Emsella Session Works
What happens on the day

Emsella Side Effects and Safety
Emsella has a mild side effect profile: nothing touches skin and nothing is inserted. The real safety work is screening.
Common, Expected Sensations
Deep tingling and a pulling sensation during the session, and occasional mild muscle awareness afterwards. There is no bruising, no redness and nobody needs time off.
Who Should Not Sit in the Chair
Electronic implants such as a pacemaker or defibrillator, and metal implants in the body, rule Emsella out. We also screen for pregnancy and recent pelvic surgery. If anything on your history is unclear, an Impact Health Network licensed physician reviews it first.
Regulatory Status
The FDA 510(k) record (K180813) states the indication as "entirely noninvasive electromagnetic stimulation of pelvic floor musculature for rehabilitation of weak pelvic muscles and restoration of neuromuscular control for treatment of male and female urinary incontinence." That is the FDA's wording. Aspire uses Emsella to strengthen the pelvic floor and support bladder control and does not provide medical care. See the FDA 510(k) database.

Emsella Questions, Answered
Before you book your course
How much does Emsella cost in Charlotte, NC?
Exact investment is discussed at your free consultation after your body composition scan. The plan depends on whether you run a standalone six-session course, add Emsella to an Emsculpt Neo core-to-floor program, or include it in a membership tier. Cherry payment plans are our primary financing option, with PatientFi and Klarna also available. Nothing is quoted without seeing you first.
How many Emsella sessions will I need?
The standard protocol is six sessions, scheduled twice a week over about three weeks. That is the course BTL studied and the one we start every client on. Some clients choose maintenance sessions later, typically every few months, based on how they feel and what their check-ins show. We decide that together after the course, not up front.
Does Emsella hurt?
No. You feel a deep tingling and a pulling sensation in the pelvic floor as the muscles contract, and some clients describe a mild vibration through the seat. It is not painful, you stay fully clothed, and you can read or scroll on your phone for the 28 minutes. Most people find it strange for the first few minutes and then relax into it.
When will I notice a difference?
Many clients notice a change within the first few sessions, often described as feeling more aware of the muscles or having fewer leaks during exercise. The fuller effect typically shows by the end of the six-session course. BTL's clinical data report improvement at six months of follow-up, and individual results vary.
Is Emsella for men too?
Yes. The FDA clearance covers both men and women, and men use the chair for more pelvic floor strength, including after prostate procedures once their physician clears them. Published studies have looked specifically at HIFEM for men after prostate surgery. Your Impact Health Network licensed physician answers any medical question about timing.
How is Emsella different from doing Kegels?
Volume and intensity. A Kegel is a voluntary squeeze, and most people manage a few dozen correct ones before fatigue or distraction wins. Emsella drives thousands of supramaximal contractions in one sitting, deeper than a voluntary contraction can reach. Kegels still matter between sessions, and we coach you on them, but the chair does the heavy lifting.
What should I wear to an Emsella session?
Normal clothing. Avoid metal zippers, studs or buttons across the seat area, and leave your phone, keys and cards out of your pockets. Athletic wear or soft trousers work best. You sit upright on the chair, feet flat, and the applicator does the rest. No gown, no gel, no internal probe.
Who should not use Emsella?
Anyone with an electronic implant such as a pacemaker or defibrillator, or metal implants in the body, including a metal intrauterine device. We also screen for pregnancy and recent pelvic surgery and will ask you to wait if either applies. Your coach reviews your health history first, and anything uncertain goes to an Impact Health Network licensed physician before you sit down.
Can I combine Emsella with Emsculpt Neo?
Yes, and BTL calls the pairing core-to-floor. Emsculpt Neo builds the abdominal and back muscles while Emsella strengthens the floor beneath them, so the whole trunk gets stronger together. BTL's clinical data on the combination report a stronger core and better posture in postpartum participants, and individual results vary. We plan the sequence at your consultation.
Does Emsella help during menopause?
Many women notice pelvic floor changes as hormones shift, and a stronger floor supports bladder control through that transition. Emsella strengthens the muscle. It does not change hormones. If the hormonal side is part of your picture, our HRT Wellness Coaching pairs coaching with care from Impact Health Network licensed physicians, and the two programs sit comfortably side by side.
Will I need to do anything at home?
A little. We ask you to keep up a short daily Kegel habit between sessions, drink water sensibly rather than cutting it, and notice your bathroom timing so your coach can track it. None of it is hard. The chair does the strength work. Your habits keep the result, which is why check-ins continue after the course ends.
