Genetic and Metabolic Testing in Charlotte, NC: Your Roadmap, Built on Data
How Coaching Fits Your Genetic and Metabolic Testing Program
Your coach, your check-ins, your numbers
Testing is only useful if someone turns it into a plan, so coaching is built in. At your first visit Brent Mague, MBA, runs your goal-setting session and your Styku 3D body composition scan sets the baseline the report is read against. When the 800 biomarker report comes back, Jillian Harrell, RD, our Registered Dietitian, walks you through it and builds your nutrition, precision supplement and coaching plan around it. Testing pairs with our weight loss coaching packages.
Check-ins are scheduled, in person or by video, and each one compares your numbers to the plan the report shaped. Rescans track fat and lean mass so you can see whether the changes are working, and measurements are added where they help. If progress stalls, your coach adjusts protein targets, supplements or training rather than guessing. Any medical question the results raise goes to Impact Health Network licensed physicians through a telehealth visit we arrange. See how it works at Aspire Trim.
What Is Genetic and Metabolic Testing?
Nutrigenomics, honestly framed
Genetic and metabolic testing analyzes gene variants that shape how you handle nutrients and respond to dietary patterns. Our 800 biomarker panel covers nutrient metabolism, macronutrient response, detoxification, food sensitivities and exercise recovery. This is nutrigenomics, see the NIH's National Human Genome Research Institute.
This is wellness information, not disease screening, and anything medical in the results is reviewed by our medical partner, Impact Health Network. Nutrigenomics informs a plan, especially micronutrient needs, but no test dictates your optimal diet. We read it with your 3D body composition scan.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Genetic and Metabolic Testing?
Genetic and metabolic testing suits people who want their nutrition and supplement decisions grounded in something specific to them. It is wellness information, and we are clear about what it is not.
Ideal Candidates for Genetic and Metabolic Testing
- Several diets with inconsistent results
- Spending on supplements that may not help
- Wanting nutrition personalized from day one
- Stuck at a weight loss plateau that coaching alone has not explained
- Curious about caffeine, lactose or gluten
- Will act on the report, not file it
Who Should Wait or Avoid Genetic and Metabolic Testing
- Wanting disease or hereditary cancer risk screening
- Sleep, protein and activity not yet addressed
- Expecting one definitive optimal diet
- Uncomfortable with how genetic data is stored
What We Confirm Before You Swab
- That your question is nutritional, not medical
- That sleep, protein and activity are handled
- That the report informs rather than dictates
- How your sample and data are stored
- That a Registered Dietitian debrief is booked
If your real question is medical rather than nutritional, we will say so and arrange a telehealth visit with Impact Health Network licensed physicians. If hormones rather than nutrition look like the lever, our TRT wellness coaching and HRT wellness coaching pages explain how that works. Most clients pair testing with coach-led weight loss in Charlotte so the report becomes a plan, and it sits alongside the rest of our Inner Health programs in Charlotte.

Genetic and Metabolic Testing Safety, Privacy and Limitations
There are no physical risks to testing. The considerations here are informational and ethical rather than medical, and they deserve straight answers.
No Physical Risk From the Sample
Sample collection is quick and non-invasive, and nothing about the process carries a health risk. What needs care is not the procedure but what the data means and where it goes.
We will go through the laboratory's data handling with you before you consent, and if you are uncomfortable with any of it, not testing is a perfectly reasonable decision.
Your Genetic Data and Who Can See It
Genetic data is personal and permanent, and you should know how it is stored, who can access it and what happens if you want it deleted.
This panel is wellness testing, not diagnostic testing: it does not screen for hereditary cancer risk, does not diagnose disease, and does not replace clinical genetic testing that a physician would order for a medical question. Anything medical that surfaces is reviewed by Impact Health Network licensed physicians.
What the Panel Cannot Tell You
Gene variants meaningfully inform nutrition decisions, particularly around micronutrient needs and specific metabolic pathways, while claims that a genetic test can determine your single optimal diet run ahead of the evidence.
Results also do not override the basics: nobody has ever failed to lose weight because of a folate variant when sleep, protein and activity were the actual problem. We will tell you when the basics are the answer, and the NIDDK weight management resources are a sound place to start. See how our coaching program works.
Genetic & Metabolic Testing Investment and Financing in Charlotte, NC
What shapes your plan
Genetic and metabolic testing is a one-time investment rather than a recurring one, since your genes do not change and the report stays useful for years. What shapes your plan is whether you take the panel on its own or inside a coaching package or membership tier (Silver, Gold or Platinum), and how much dietitian time you want built around the results. Coaching is included either way. Exact investment is discussed at your free consultation after your body composition scan.
What is included
- Free consultation and Styku 3D body composition scan
- Pre-test review of scope, limitations and data handling
- Sample collection in clinic and laboratory analysis of roughly 800 biomarkers
- The full written report, yours to keep, with precision supplement recommendations
- A debrief with Jillian Harrell, RD, our Registered Dietitian, turning findings into a food plan
- Scheduled coaching check-ins and rescans as part of your package
Flexible payment options
Cherry payment plans are our primary financing option, with a quick application that does not affect your credit score. PatientFi and Klarna are also available. Review our financing options before your visit. One honest note: many clients offset part of the investment by stopping supplements the report shows they do not need. That is not a promise, but it is a common outcome.

Genetic and Metabolic Testing Questions, Answered
Before you test
How much does genetic and metabolic testing cost in Charlotte, NC?
Exact investment is discussed at your free consultation after your body composition scan, and it depends on whether you test on its own or inside a coaching package or membership tier. It is a one-time cost because genes do not change. Cherry payment plans are our primary financing option, with PatientFi and Klarna also available. Review our financing options before your visit.
What does the genetic and metabolic test actually tell me?
It reports variants across roughly 800 biomarkers covering nutrient metabolism, macronutrient handling, caffeine clearance, lactose and gluten tendencies, detoxification pathways and exercise-related markers, with precision supplement recommendations. Practically, it tells you which supplements are worth taking and often explains why a particular dietary approach never worked. When low energy is the issue, it shows where nutrition is part of the picture.
Does this test for disease risk or cancer genes?
No, deliberately. This is wellness testing focused on nutrition and metabolism, not diagnostic screening. It does not test hereditary cancer predisposition genes and does not diagnose disease. If you want disease risk screening, that is clinical genetic testing ordered by your physician, and we will tell you so plainly.
How long do results take?
Two to three weeks from sample collection to report. We then book you in for a debrief with our Registered Dietitian rather than emailing you a PDF and leaving you to interpret it. That debrief is where the value actually lands, so we would rather you waited a week for a proper conversation.
How is my genetic data stored and protected?
We go through the laboratory's data handling, access and deletion policies with you before you consent, because genetic data is personal and permanent and you are entitled to understand it. If any part of it makes you uncomfortable, declining the test is a completely reasonable decision and we will not press you on it.
Is nutrigenomics actually science?
Yes, and it has professional society position guidance behind it. What we will not do is overstate it. Gene variants meaningfully inform micronutrient needs and specific metabolic pathways. Claims that a genetic test can determine your single optimal diet run ahead of the current evidence, and we say so before you pay.
Do I need to test more than once?
No. Your genome does not change, so this is a one-time sample and the report stays useful for years. That is what separates it from labs, which measure changing physiology and need repeating. If a laboratory offers you an annual re-test of the same genetic panel, that is a marketing exercise.
Will the results change my weight loss program?
Usually in the details rather than the direction. The report often refines protein and fat targets, adjusts the supplement list and explains past difficulty with a particular approach. It does not change whether appetite, coaching or hormone support is the main lever, which is what your consultation and body composition scan determine.
Should I do this before or after starting a program?
Either works, and many clients do both together. Testing before means your nutrition plan is personalized from week one. Testing later is fine too, and some clients prefer to get the basics moving first. We will tell you honestly if sleep, protein and activity are the higher priority right now.
Can genetic and metabolic testing explain a weight loss plateau?
Often it adds a useful piece. Variants in macronutrient handling and nutrient metabolism can explain why an approach that once worked has stalled, and the report refines protein targets and supplements. Pair it with a rescan and a coaching review, since adaptive energy changes and habit drift are usually bigger factors. Read our article on why you may not be losing weight and our plateau page.
What if the report says something worrying?
It should not, because this panel is not designed to surface disease risk. If something in the findings warrants clinical follow-up, Impact Health Network licensed physicians review it through a telehealth visit we arrange, and we will tell you to take it to your own physician where appropriate rather than managing it here. That boundary is deliberate and we hold it.
Is it worth it if I already eat well?
Often the most useful reports go to people who already do the basics, because the remaining gains are in the details. If sleep, protein and activity are still the problem, a genetic report will not fix that, and we will say so. Many clients over 40 pair the report with our guide to losing weight after 40.
