Emsculpt Neo Body Contouring in Charlotte, NC: Build Muscle, Reduce Fat
How Coaching Fits Your Emsculpt Neo Program
Your coach, your check-ins, your numbers
Emsculpt Neo at Aspire is never a stand-alone package. Your first visit starts with a Styku 3D body composition scan so we know your baseline muscle, fat and circumference before the first applicator goes on. Jayde da Costa, our Certified Body Contouring Specialist, maps the areas to work, and Brent Mague, ISSA Weight Management Specialist and Nutritionist, sets the protein and strength training targets that keep the muscle you build. You can extend the plan with our weight loss coaching packages.
Check-ins are scheduled, in person or by video, between sessions and after the series. We rescan on the Styku after your fourth session and again at about 90 days, because changes keep developing after the last session. If progress stalls, your coach reviews protein intake, training load and recovery before anyone suggests more sessions. Any medical question, from implants to medication, goes to Impact Health Network licensed physicians through a visit we arrange. See how it works at Aspire Trim.
What Is Emsculpt Neo?
HIFEM plus synchronized radiofrequency
Emsculpt Neo is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive body contouring device from BTL that combines HIFEM muscle stimulation with synchronized radiofrequency heating. It is cleared for fat and circumference reduction of the abdomen and used on other body areas.
HIFEM (high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy) drives supramaximal contractions beyond voluntary effort, while radiofrequency heats the fat layer. BTL's clinical data reports 25% more muscle and 30% less fat on average after four sessions 5 to 10 days apart, with 87% satisfaction. Individual results vary.

Emsculpt Neo vs Other Body Contouring Options
An honest comparison
| Treatment | Mechanism | Time | Results | Duration | Downtime | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emsculpt Neo | HIFEM contractions plus synchronized RF heat | 30 minutes per area | Muscle up, fat down over about 3 months | Maintained with training and protein | None | Building muscle and reducing fat in one area |
| Laser Lipo (invisa-RED) | Red and infrared light releases stored fat | 25 to 40 minutes per area | Inch loss across 8 to 12 sessions | Maintained with diet and activity | None | Stubborn fat without a muscle goal |
| Training alone | Voluntary contractions under progressive load | 45 to 60 minutes, 3 to 5 days a week | Gradual over months | Lifelong with consistency | None | Everyone, and the base every program builds on |
| Surgical liposuction | Mechanical removal of fat by suction | Operating room procedure | Immediate fat removal, no muscle gain | Permanent for removed fat | Weeks of recovery | Large-volume fat where non-surgical will not suffice |
| Emsella | HIFEM for the pelvic floor muscles | About 28 minutes, seated and clothed | Pelvic floor strength over 6 sessions | Maintenance sessions as needed | None | Core-to-floor strength, often paired with Neo |
Who Is a Good Candidate for Emsculpt Neo?
Emsculpt Neo suits active adults who want more muscle definition and less fat in a specific area, and people returning to training who want a stronger base. Your coach, Jayde da Costa, Certified Body Contouring Specialist, screens your health history before session one.
Ideal Candidates for Emsculpt Neo
- Adults at or near a stable, healthy weight
- Lifters, runners and recreational athletes wanting more definition
- Anyone building lean muscle who has hit a wall with training alone
- People with stubborn abdominal, flank, glute, thigh or arm fat
- Clients willing to keep training and eating protein after the series
Who Should Wait or Avoid Emsculpt Neo
- Electronic implants such as a pacemaker or defibrillator
- Metal implants or hardware in or near the area
- Pregnancy, or recent surgery in the area
- Active skin infection, open wounds or scar tissue over the area
- Substantial weight to lose first, where a coached program should come before contouring
Applicators are never placed over clothing or scar tissue. If any item above applies, or you are unsure, ask the Impact Health Network physician we arrange for you. If your goal is movement, posture and core function rather than definition, our functional wellness program in Charlotte, NC may be the better starting point.

Emsculpt Neo Side Effects and Safety
Emsculpt Neo is non-invasive and FDA-cleared, and its side effect profile is mild in normal use. The real safety work is screening before the first session.
Common, Expected Effects
Muscle soreness for a day or two, similar to a hard training session, is the most common report. Temporary redness or warmth over the area from the radiofrequency usually settles within hours. Some clients feel muscle fatigue or a brief cramping sensation during the session as intensity rises.
Who Should Not Have Emsculpt Neo
BTL lists electronic and metal implants as contraindications, and applicators are never placed over clothing or scar tissue. We also screen for pregnancy, recent surgery in the area and active skin infection. The clearance record is public in the FDA 510(k) database (K192224).
The Honest Limit
Emsculpt Neo contours one area at a time. It is not a weight loss program, and anyone with substantial weight to lose gets a better result by starting with coach-led weight loss in Charlotte first. Dr. Jonathan Hinds, MD, provides device oversight, and medical questions go to Impact Health Network licensed physicians.

Emsculpt Neo Questions, Answered
Before you book a series
How much does Emsculpt Neo cost in Charlotte, NC?
Exact investment is discussed at your free consultation after your body composition scan. It depends on how many areas you want worked and whether you add a coaching package or membership tier. We do not publish prices because one area over four sessions is a different plan from two areas with a rescan schedule. Cherry payment plans, PatientFi and Klarna are available, and our financing options are explained up front.
How many Emsculpt Neo sessions do I need?
The standard protocol is four 30-minute sessions scheduled 5 to 10 days apart, so the series finishes in about two weeks. BTL's clinical data is based on that protocol. Some clients add a second area or a maintenance session later, but we decide that from your Styku rescan rather than selling extra sessions up front.
Does Emsculpt Neo hurt?
No. You feel intense muscle contractions, like a hard workout you are not doing yourself, plus warmth from the radiofrequency. Intensity is raised gradually during the first session so you stay comfortable. Mild muscle soreness the next day is common, similar to a tough training session, and there is no bruising and no recovery time.
When will I see results from Emsculpt Neo?
Most clients feel firmer muscle within two to four weeks of the fourth session, and fat reduction becomes visible over the following weeks. Published MRI follow-ups measured changes at about three months after the series, which is why we schedule your rescan then. Individual results vary. Our article on what to expect from Emsculpt Neo walks through the timeline.
How long do Emsculpt Neo results last?
Muscle gained with Emsculpt Neo behaves like muscle gained in the gym: it stays as long as you keep training it and feeding it protein, and it fades if you stop. Fat cells affected by the radiofrequency heating are cleared by the body over the following weeks. Your coach builds the strength and protein plan that keeps the result, and scheduled check-ins catch slippage early.
Can Emsculpt Neo replace my workouts?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Emsculpt Neo accelerates muscle development in one area and reduces the fat covering it, but it does not improve your cardiovascular fitness, mobility or total body strength. It works best as a boost for people who already train, or as a starting point your coach pairs with a simple strength routine you can keep.
What is the difference between Emsculpt Neo and laser lipo?
Emsculpt Neo builds muscle and reduces fat together using HIFEM and radiofrequency. Laser lipo with invisa-RED reduces fat only, using red and infrared light over a longer course of sessions. If your goal is definition and strength, Neo fits. If you only want inch loss on a stubborn area, laser fat reduction may be the better fit, and we plan both at the same consultation.
Is Emsculpt Neo for men and athletes?
Yes. Many of our Emsculpt Neo clients are men, runners, lifters and recreational athletes who want a stronger core, firmer glutes or more defined arms without adding hours in the gym. The protocol is the same for everyone. Applicator placement and intensity are adjusted to your build and your goal, whether that is definition or a stronger base for training.
Who should not have Emsculpt Neo?
Anyone with an electronic or metal implant, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator or metal hardware in the area, should not have HIFEM or radiofrequency sessions. We also screen for pregnancy, recent surgery in the area and active skin infection. Your coach reviews your health history before session one, and you can ask an Impact Health Network physician if you are unsure.
How is this different from Functional Wellness with Emsculpt Neo?
Same device, different goal. This page covers body contouring: visible muscle definition and fat reduction. Our core strength and movement program uses Emsculpt Neo to rebuild muscle function, posture and stability, often alongside recovery work. Your coach helps you choose the right starting point at your consultation.
Can I combine Emsculpt Neo with Emsella?
Yes. BTL calls the pairing Core-to-Floor: Emsculpt Neo for the abdomen and emsella in Charlotte, NC for the pelvic floor muscles. BTL's clinical data reports a stronger core and better posture among participants, with individual results varying. We can schedule the two on the same visit when it suits your plan and your calendar.
Does Emsculpt Neo help with belly and visceral fat?
A 2023 retrospective analysis reported reductions in visceral fat after HIFEM with synchronized radiofrequency on the abdomen, which is encouraging but not a substitute for weight loss when total body fat is high. If belly fat is your main concern, read our page on belly and visceral fat and bring it to your consultation. Your scan tells us which path fits.
